How to Vote by Mail

Friends, voting is your right, your responsibility as a citizen and has never been more important as it is this year for 2020.

There are many reasons you may not cast your vote, from voter suppression efforts by those who don’t want you to vote, to simply not being able to get to the polling location during Election Day. This year, the presence of coronavirus (COVID-19) presents some new challenges we’ve never faced before. Regardless, your voice should and must be heard, our Democracy depends on it – one way to make sure your vote is counted is to Vote By Mail.

For this year’s General Election, the below rules are in place:

VOTE BY MAIL INFO FOR THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION

  • All active registered Democrats and Republicans will receive a mail-in ballot.
  • All active unaffiliated voters and inactive Democrats and Republicans will receive a mail-in ballot application.
  • Mail-in ballot applications must be received by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office via mail by October 13th or via hand delivery prior to 8 p.m. on Election Night, November 3rd.
  • All mail-in ballots and applications are postage-paid.
  • Neptune City’s polling location will be the Neptune City Community Center on Election Day, Nov. 3rd. Please note, there will be no voting machines there except machines for disabled voters; any other voter may only vote by paper provisional ballots only. Mail-ins must be mailed or dropped in a ballot dropbox. 
  • Completed mail-in ballots are due back to the County Board of Elections for counting via hand delivery on Election Night, Tuesday, Nov. 3rd at 8 p.m. Completed mail-in ballots mailed to the County Board of Elections via the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 3rd.
  • There are no sample ballots, your ballot IS YOUR VOTE. Please take care to read the instructions and reach out to us if you have any questions.
