Meet Councilwoman Dr. Joanne Jodry

Councilwoman Joanne Jodry for Neptune City Council

Joanne was born, raised, and nurtured in Neptune City her entire life. She attended Roosevelt School (K-2) and graduated from 8th grade at Woodrow Wilson School in 1976. She has good memories of growing up in a small town with so much to offer families. Today she still resides in Neptune City and has raised her only daughter here.

Joanne is a third-generation Neptune City resident. Her grandmother owned a business in town (Plunkett’s Bar and Grill) from the 1930s to the 1960s. Her mother was raised and still resides here, and now she has raised her daughter here.

While living in Neptune City over the years, Joanne has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Psychological Counseling, and two doctoral degrees, one in Medical Humanities and Counselor Education and Supervision. Joanne is currently an Associate Professor/Program Director of the graduate Clinical Mental Health Program at Monmouth University. In addition, she has a private counseling practice and publishes literature in psychology.

Joanne previously served on the Neptune City Board of Education and would like to serve her community again by joining the Town Council. She would like to ensure that Neptune City remains a place where people can be safe, grow in a diverse community, feel supported, and thrive in their goals. With her background in business and mental health, she hopes to bring fiscal responsibility, affordability, and compassion with her voice.
